The History of the Taj Mahal

The restaurant was established in 1985 by a group of friends who wanted to bring fantastic food and dining at affordable and unpretentious prices. They found just what they were looking for in 186 Station Road in Addlestone.

The premises were already being used as a restaurant but they spent some of theire hard earned cash bringing it up to date with new furnishings and air conditioning to ensure maximum comfort for their potential customers.

Over the years, the restaurant layout and décor have been updated to allow for maximum comfort and ambience. Throughout these times the original murals, the Taj Mahal’s signature, have been retained. Most recently, the artist was tracked down and commissioned to add an extra panel – can you tell which one it is?

The Taj Mahal Tandoori Restaurant is locally owned and run with a view to providing a relaxing environment with excellent service in which to enjoy some of the best food of the Indian subcontinent. You can get a tikka marsala in lots of places – even down the pub – but once you try ours; you will never want to go back. In fact, the food is fit for an Emperor and an Empress.
